Reality Thread 5 Update -Version 0.2.5.1
Since the release of Reality Thread 5 (0.2.5.0), just over 2 days ago, the Earth 2 team has been actively monitoring gameplay, server performance and Player feedback across E2V1. As a result of that monitoring and the valuable data collected, we have now deployed Version 0.2.5.1 within this short period of time, introducing targeted fixes and refinements to improve overall stability, functionality and experience inside E2V1.
Despite the ongoing holiday period, our team has continued working through the weekend to ensure these improvements and fixes were released to our Players.
Update Details
Enhanced handling for global water-based activities
Refined multiple sub-systems that control water interactions – including swimming, diving, searching, and drinking – to improve synchronisation between server and client behaviour. This update should improve irregular movement states and ensures Characters experience smoother transitions when entering, exiting or performing actions in water.
Server disconnection stability
Resolved a problem that, in some cases, caused unexpected server disconnections for a subset of Players. This fix improves overall connection reliability and reduces the likelihood of abrupt multiplayer session interruptions.
Character overlap after disconnection
Fixed an issue where Characters could overlap or appear merged with other Characters after a disconnection event was recorded. This behaviour should now be resolved but the team will continue to monitor live data to ensure it remains stable under varying conditions.
Teleportation system improvements
Adjusted the teleportation sequence to accurately reflect the E2V1 time of day for the destination property before teleportation begins. This ensures Players are aware of the time of day in the targeted teleport destination before the teleportation event occurs.
We’ve also updated the system to display each property’s Extended Description, as set by the property owner. This allows teleporting Players to read any details or information the owner wishes to share with the teleporter before they initiate a teleport.
Shovel visibility in multiplayer
Resolved a bug that prevented the shovel from appearing correctly in multiplayer sessions. All equipped shovels should now render properly for both the local Player and others nearby while digging, ensuring consistency in visual representation.
Season persistence after revival
Fixed an issue where a Character’s current season could incorrectly change following revival. Seasons now remain persistent and accurately aligned with global environmental data, preserving the correct biome and world conditions for every Player session.
Minor fixes and performance improvements
Implemented additional optimisations and small refinements across a number of E2V1 systems.
As always, the Earth 2 team will continue to monitor performance and Player feedback closely, applying further refinements as needed to maintain and improve the experience inside E2V1.
